A laughter workshop is great fun and having fun is a wonderful way to help counter stress and fear; spirits are raised. Hearty laughter causes the brain to release chemicals that reduce stress within minutes. Laughter helps to promote a positive outlook, especially when practiced within a group of peers.
It is not easy for cancer and mental health sufferers to achieve laughter through intellectual stimuli like jokes and TV humour. A laughter workshop approaches laughter as a body exercise that can easily be done regardless of mood. Laughter brings laughter from the body, not the mind.
